When your kids get hurt its no fun, when your kids get hurt and its your fault its even worse!!! Cole wanted to make mac n cheese for lunch and he wanted to help. So thinking I am being a good mom, I get him a stool and let him help. It was almost done cooking when Camrie came into the kitchen and wanted to help also. I was nervous for her but made sure she was not too close. It was time to to drain the noodles and so I turned the burner off and looked at both of the kids and said " DO NO TOUCH THE STOVE ITS HOT!!!"
Then I turned and drained the noddles. The next thing I hear is Camrie scream! I turn around and see that she was put her whole hand on the center or the buring hot turner! I dropped the noodles and rushed her to the sink and put it under cold water. I then ran and got some ice out of the freezer and held it on her hand. She was screaming, I was screaming and Cole jumped down from his chair and ran to his room. ( my poor kids they always do that when I start to yell). Poor Camrie's hand was burned all over and you could see it start to blister right away. I kept ice on it all day. If I tried to take it off or let the air hit it she would just scream. She would just toss and turn on the couch trying to get away from the pain! It broke my heart!
this is her hand just hours after she did it. It got so swollen and every bit of her hand had a blister on it. We gave her a blessing and tried to keep her comfortable.
This is her hand a few days later. The whole palm was blistered up, but finally the bubble went down. Thank goodness for melagel and the oil. we just kept that on it everyday. Today you wouldnt even know it happened. She was amazing though. that first day was pretty hard, but she is one tough girl. Nothing agaisnt my boys, but if it had happened to them I think it would of been ten times worse with the winning! She just wrapped her hand up and kept right on doing what she does.

Guess I will have to try and be a good mom without letting my kids help me with making lunch. We ask Camrie all the time if she wants to touch the stove? She has for sure learned her lesson cause she still tells us its hot and to stay away.
