Summer trip to Idaho

This trip all began when I was talking to Emry about really wanting to go and see my parent this summer. She made the comment, I bet Chloe would love to go with you and help with the boys. I took that comment and ran with it. We left July 22 and drove 10 hours to Provo and stayed with Gabe and Avah. Then we got up and rant to see Gabe and Amy and the kids and also got to see Nick before he went to work. We then had 11 hours to my parents in Couer d' Alene. By the time we were about 2 1/2 hours away, Chloe and I were doing all we could to stay sane.The Boys had had enough. I will say though for 21 hours in 2 days, They were AMAZING!!!!
Chloe was the BEST. I am so glad she was willing to come along with us. We had so much fun.We stayed with my parents for 7 days, went to Twin Falls, Idaho for 4 days, my cousin got married and we did a little family reunion to celebrate my Grandpa's 88th birthday. Then we went to Rexburg for 5 days and met up with Josh and his family for a Comin family reunion.
I will say that when I planned this trip it sounded so fun.... and it was, but being away from Josh for 12 days is way to long! By the end I was SOOOO ready to get home and be done.
I thought I would make a list of all the things we got to do and things that describe the 2 weeks that we were gone.
45 hours of driving with 2 kids. Jacuzzi anytime I wanted. Fresh raspberries and blueberries from my parents garden. Bike rides around the lake. Beautiful weather in July. Yard games. Marble game at my parents house. Hiking Tubs Hill with my mom. Going to the lake almost everyday and jumping off the logs.Canoes. Mudge the Moose. Huckleberries, Quiddler. Settlers. Grandma Chariton.Getting my hair cut. Hanging out with Ari and Parker. Carousel ride.Watching Jarom play soccer. Twin Falls, Temple. Staying up till 2 am laughing till you cant hold your head up. Aunts and Uncles and Cousins I haven't seen for years. Camp Fires. Smores. Amazing Raspberry Bars from the wedding reception. Watching Jarom with all the girls, They thought he was pretty cute. Watching Chloe with all the girls, they thought she was the COOLEST PERSON ever.Cole throwing up. 120 people living in a 7 room cabin. Sleeping in a tent. Rain storms every night with thunder and lighting. Tent being blown everywhere. Survivor games. Jarom throwing up everywhere in his bed. Giving everyone at the reunion the stomach flu. Water in tent and throw up all in the same 10 minutes. Hotel in Kanab. Stopping at the Damn in Page. HOME SWEET HOME!!!!
As you can see the trip got more and more exciting as the time when on. And as you can tell I got more and more ready to be home since we were all sick.
ALL in ALL we had a great time and I am so GRATEFUL to Chloe to come along with me and the boys to make the trip possible.
I am also SOOO LUCKY to have Josh as my hubby and for him allowing me to drive 30 hours all by my self.

Jarom has turned into a fish. He loves to swim. He finally has learned to swim in the deep end and loves that he can swim across the pool. He has turned into quite a big brother. when cole is crying or sad he will hold cole on his lap and talk to him and make him laugh. He loves playing with his new friend Aden and they have such the imaginations.

April 2009
Jarom turned 3! We just took him to the doctor for his 3 year check up. He is in the 75% range for his height and 25% range for his weight. I guess the saying is true; like father like son.
He is for sure a three year old. He is at the age where he likes to test my patience. He will get made at me and say, " mom I am mad at you!" or if I say something he doesnt like he will hit something. Hopefully it doesnt last too long. On the other hand though when he does get into trouble he will come out from being in time out and say " Mom sorry for _________, I wont do it again." So he does have a soft side to him

July 2008
We were able to get him potty trained. What a relief that is for me. Now I only have to buy and change one diaper. He is also talking up a storm. It seems like every day he picks up a new word. He can count to 10 and say his ABC's with my help. Many times I will hear him counting and saying 1,2,3 over and over again. We tried the color thing, but he thinks everything is BLUE. He loves to look at his books and find the different animals and objects.

Jarom got to see how it felt like to get stung by a wasp today. NO actually not just a wasp but wasps!!! we were at the park and he went over to play with a neighbor boy and they attacked him!! they got his forearm and his little finger. he was tough, the mom of the boy hit his hand with her mail to get them off and i think that scared him more then anything!Jarom is also still getting use to having cole around. some days he is the biggest helper and other days he sees what he can do to bug him. i hope it ends soon.even with all his temper tantrums and fits he still melts my heart. just when i think i cant take any more he comes up with something cute to make me love him again!!

Jarom is two years old and such a great big brother. He is still trying to get use to sharing my time with someone else, but he still makes me laugh and is still so happy. He is talking like crazy and loves to copy what we say. He seems so big next to Cole. He isnt my little baby any more!! We are trying to get him potty trained. Lets just say it might take some time, he has no interest in it at all and could care less if he has a messy diaper. He loves to be outside and could play for hours outside if I let him. He loves to swim and also play with anything that has to do with a ball. He for sure is all BOY!!

So its offical, Cole is Walking. He doesnt walk a ton because i think he gets around faster crawling, but he can walk around the room. He will walk until he falls and then he is done. He is also quite the swimmer. he is all over the place when he gets in. He hates being held. But that makes for a problem since he really cant swim. my favorite things to do is go under water with him and we look at each other. He looks so cute holding his breath. He has a crazy rash on his legs that we cant get rid of. I think we will always have something that we are dealing with on him. he has finally learned to clap and loves to wave to people.

April 2009
Cole is 11 months trying to be 2. He tries so hard to keep up with Jarom. The problem though is Jarom wont let him. I know that when he starts walking and talking Jarom better watch out. Cole is all over the place. He cant sit still for more then 2 seconds. He is always laughing. He loves to be around Jarom. Its so fun to see him turning into a little boy and not a baby anymore.

July 2008
I feel like the worst mom ever, but Cole has a cold for the second time. I guess it doesnt help when Jarom is coughing all over him!!! What do you do? Even with being sick Cole is a good baby. He has finally started to smile and it makes Josh's day when he comes home from work and gets a smile from Cole. We are trying to figure out all of his stomach issues. He seems to only have a messy diaper about once a week to 10 days. He is fine all week and then the grunts and groans and cries get more intense. Hopefully the Dr will give us some advice. He is still up about twice a night, but we are getting use to the routine.

Wow almost a month old!! i cant believe it. i just have one word.... chunky!!! its so different from jarom, cole has the biggest cheeks and man does he have a double chin!!! when he was born his poor legs were just bone with skin covering... not any more!! he is still super cute. he also has the worst baby pimples but the good thing is they seem to come for a day and then go and move to a differnt spot. hope they clear up fast they sure arent attractive. He also got his first cold. poor little guy. Jarom started with the runny nose, i got the sore throat and then we all got the cough and runny nose. Its so sad to hear cole though, since he is so small he keeps gagging. hope he gets better fast.One more word to describe cole is Noisy!!! he cant just lay there without making noises. he grunts and groans and and snores and anything else you can think of. good thing he has his own room to sleep in. thank goodness for monitors!!!

Cole came to our family a month early, but are we glad to have his sweet spirit here with us. He is such a great baby. I think he has maybe cried twice the whole time. He loves to have his hands on his face and loves to make all kinds of faces. He has his nights and days mixed up and so that makes things fun, but all in all we love him and so I think we will keep him.

Funny things from the Lewis Boys

*Josh stayed home from work the other day because he wasnt feeling very good. Jarom was out in the pool and he was trying so hard to backfloat. We heard him talking to himself and then he came up out of the water and grunted and said" i just cant do it, i am having issues" Josh said what did you say jarom, I'm having issues!!! I laughted so hard. the things Jarom says.

*The other day Jarom was watching TV and the show was talking about having a new baby. Jarom turned to me and said "mom I want a new baby!" I told him that Cole was our baby. He told me that cole wasnt a baby. I asked him what kind of baby he wanted and he said a GIRL!!!

* Cole loves to play with Jarom. Way more then Jarom likes to play with Cole. My only problem is if Jarom gets annoyed by Cole he tries to beat Cole up. When Jarom does this Cole just laughs, so it makes Jarom do it more and sometimes even harder. I have my work cut out for me when they get older I just know it.

* If I do something that Jarom doesnt want to me do or I dont do it right Jarom will say " YOU STINKER"

* Josh put in our new lighting in the kitchen a few weeks ago and the next day after it was done I showed Jarom and he said, " WOW, I so excited."

* Cole is getting better and better at feeding himself. He finally will drink from a cup by himself and loves to feed himself. However everytime he is done taking a drink he just drops it on the floor. We will have to work on his table manners. He is also very noisy when he eats, he smacks him lips like crazy. I guess I cant complain.

* Jarom's new bike has rockets on it and everytime he wants to ride his bike he asks, " Can I ride my spaceship bike" the only thing is when he asks it sounds like he is asking to ride his bishop bike.
