A Few crafty things I have created over the past few weeks

So these projects all started out with me wanting to make a quilt. I have never made a quilt and really wanted to give it a try. I got the pattern from my super creative and talented friend Kim. I have to say I am very pleased with how it turned out. I actually am giving it away as a gift, and am sad to see it go, but I guess that just means I will have to make another one.

Its just a small lap quilt, but I have to say if it was any bigger I don't think I could of done it on my own. Some day I will try doing a bigger quilt and taking it somewhere to put it all together.
Then after getting the quilt done, I had all these left over scraps that I didn't know what to do with. I found an old pattern for a bag and thought, what the heck I could use a new diaper bag/ purse. I don't really use a diaper bag, but still need a bag big enough for the diapers and wipes and other useless things you have to carry around just because.
So I ended up creating this bag. Its been very nice to have.

So then I sent a picture of the bag to my sister and she text back and wanted me to make her one. So this is where the next bag came from. She told me she wanted a BRIGHT bag, do you think this bag is bright enough!!!!

I have loved sewing and think its my New Most Favorite thing to do. You can make so much and its the best feeling when you finish something and it looks good and turns out. Even more fun now that I am getting somewhat good and am not scared to try something new.

I love those fabrics you used in the first bag- and it's a cute bag! Where did you get the pattern? And the one for your sister is VERY bright! Good job!

Those bags are so cute, I'm so impressed. I made a quilt for my parent's anniversary a year ago and discovered that my house was way to small. I ended up having to go to the church to finish it. I can't wait to see the picture of yours.
